We are nearing our departure date! Before we know it, we will be in South Africa! There is so much to learn and we are fortunate to have Clare Donato to accompany us on Tuesday, April 23. Clara Donato is a lifelong resident of Cape Town. She will be speaking with us about her experiences in Cape Town. Join us Tuesday, April 23 at 7:00 pm in the Wood Room in the DeSales University Center for an informational meeting.

Windows on the World (WOW) Fundraising

 We are hoping to support St. Mary's through the creation of a small mobile informal "lab" of iPads that could be brought into the classrooms to foster student's engagement with the world beyond center city Cape Town, and for the teachers to use the Internet to support classroom instruction and provide a window on the world. For the children of St. Mary's Primary, the basic necessities of life trump family investment in technology.

 

We are seeking your monetary support for this mission project and are inviting you to the WOW Open House Fundraiser for St. Mary's on Saturday evening, April 6th, 6:30-9:00.

Directions to the South Africa Open House from DeSales University

From DeSales University, take Preston Lane to Route 378 North (towards Bethlehem).  Travel about 3.2 miles to Black River Road.  (You will see a Hess gas station on the left in a small plaza.)  Make a RIGHT.  Go almost one mile on Black River Road.  Make a LEFT onto Surrey Road.  (Note… street sign on the right says Dartford.)  Take the 2nd right onto Sunderland Dr.  Go to the end of Sunderland Drive to #2015.  Our house is a gray ranch with red shutters on the right, almost into the cul-de-sac.  Park anywhere near the cul-de-sac.
